Center of Exellence!

Due to the complex and extensive functionality as well as its fine tissue structure, specific and special 'lapses' - diseases - often originate in the intestine. Handling such diseases requires extensive knowledge. Our physicians are enterologists and well-versed minimally invasive surgeons.

Minimally Invasive Surgery Techniques

Due to significant advancements in surgery, basically all intestinal diseases can be treated using laparoscopic (minimally invasive) techniques. Only a few small incisions in the region of the navel and the lower abdomen with a size of between 0.5 and 5 cm are required. In order to obtain sufficient space for surgery, CO2 is injected into the abdominal cavity. Now the actual laparoscopy is performed to evaluate the entire abdominal cavity. The same principles apply to laparoscopic surgery as in conventional operations.
